University Librarian Jim Rettig Nominated for President of the American Library Association
University of Richmond Librarian James Rettig is one of two candidates for president of the American Library Association (ALA). Rettig has been with University of Richmond since 1998. He has held a number of elected and appointed positions in ALA, including executive board member, governing council member, chair of the organization and publishing committees, and president of one of its divisions. Rettig holds two master’s degrees, one in English from Marquette University and one in library science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has earned numerous awards for his work, including the ALA’s G.K. Hall Award for Library Literature.
