ArtStor Adds Images of Islamic Art

Artstor (digital image database) has recently announced an agreement to collaborate on the distribution of up to 25,000 high quality digital images of the art and architecture of Islam from the personal archives of a team of leading scholar photographers in this field: Sheila Blair, Jonathan Bloom and Walter B. Denny. The first 1,646 images have now been integrated into the Image Gallery. Connect to Artstor through ONLINE DATBASES on the library's web site.

New Headphones

Boatwright Library has new headphones available for checkout at the Main Service Desk for use at the library's public computers. Each computer has a headphone jack on the front of the tower. You can adjust the volume by using the control within your application, or by clicking on the speaker icon in the task tray on the Windows tool bar.

17th Annual Peple Lecture, Tuesday, February 21, 7:30 p.m.

Dr. Marita Golden will deliver the 17th Annual Edward Edward C. and Mary S. Peple Lecture on “The Writers’ Voice and Authority, ‘Who Said You Couldn’t Say That?”’.Golden is a novelist, writing teacher and founder of the Zora Neale Hurston/Richard Wright Foundation. The lecture is sponsored by the Friends of Boatwright Memorial Library. The event will take place on Tuesday, February 21, 7:30 p.m. in Jepson 118.

Do you need access to U.S., Virginia and other state tax forms? The UR Libraries have created a special tax information web page providing links to all federal and state forms. Please note that the IRS no longer provides paper tax forms to libraries.
